Description:

This course will cover all aspects related to the recruitment, training and retention of employees, volunteers and local officers in the corps.

Outcomes:

  1. Cadets will be able to find and become familiar with the most up-to-date copies of the Eastern Territory Employee Manual and Supervisor’s Handbook. 
  2. Cadets will be able to describe basic employment policies and benefits that apply to The Salvation Army Eastern Territory.
  3. Cadets will be able to identify management styles/techniques that should result in the effective management of human resources, including the fundamental fairness formula.
  4. Cadets will be able to recognize and discuss various employment forms that are used. 
  5. Cadets will be able to prepare a job description that meets approved guidelines. 
  6. Cadets will be able to recall or compose at least four interview questions that are appropriate for specific corps positions.
