Hymn resources

Finding hymns

This guide will help you use library and free online resources to find hymns and hymn tunes.  The "Home" tab lists specific resources and the "More resources" tab provides search tips as well as information about the CFOT's CCLI license.  Make certain to follow copyright law when using these resources.  Unless they are in the public domain, works cannot be legally copied, distributed, performed, or displayed without permission.  To get a better understanding of what musical resources you can use and how you can use them read the "Copyright and Licensing" section of the Community Guidelines.

Salvation Army hymn resources

This site supports the new SA Songbook.  It contains the work of Bill Metcalf.  The site has material indexed by music & meter, by scripture, and by devotional history.  Background information is also included for many songs.

  • The Multimedia Songbook was designed for corps without musical support. It is a library of worship videos with lyrics for "some of the most celebrated songs of our movement".
  • Piano accompaniment for corps without musical support has been created by Christian Riesebieter. Cadets can download them from the Share drive > Music > Tunebook.
